PROJECT COORDINATOR

Project Coordinators are the heart of our company. They are highly motivated professionals with a proven track record of developing trusted relationships with our clients across Canada.  


Your Role:

Educate the customer on Quartz & Natural stone products, the installation process, product care, and warranty information.

• Build relationships internally and externally with clients regarding scheduling projects.

• Communicate with suppliers and order project materials.

• Countertop estimation and ordering.

• Provide schedule updates as per any changes or additions.

• Work with floor plans, elevations, and renderings.

• Work with field technicians and sub-trades for input into the project schedule and look ahead.

• Reporting of progress and delays to the schedule, working with fabrication and installation crews to provide solutions when needed.

• Take the lead on the preparation of planning, scheduling, and meetings to be flexible with project needs.

• Gather information regarding requirements, budget, material, style, and colour selections.

• Meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Requirements:  

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Work on-site at our Lac du Bonnet location
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Demonstrate a strong capacity to listen to feedback and effectively adjust plans or strategies in response to project changes.
  • Provide feedback to management and other team members regarding process improvements.
  • Demonstrate computer proficiency (MS Office, Project Management applications).
  • Exhibit a solid commitment to exceptional customer service and possess proven skills in managing interactions effectively.
  • Ability to learn new processes, tools, and other relevant information quickly.
  • Ability to work in a multi-client environment and to apply various client-specific business processes to individual service request situations.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to multitask, gather information, accurately assess issues and assign the priority level; effective problem-solving and communication skills are necessary.
  • Possess strong time management and project management skills.

PRODUCTION MANAGER

Granite Mountain Stone Design is seeking a motivated and experienced Production Manager to lead our dynamic team of fabricators in our shop. This role is vital to ensuring the successful execution of projects, meeting deadlines, and delivering high-quality results. The Production Manager will oversee all aspects of shop production, including material preparation, fabrication, procurement, resource planning, and adherence to client specifications.


 Duties and Responsibilities:   

  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of fabricators to ensure optimal performance in compliance with company standards.
  • Project Oversight: Manage assigned projects throughout the shop, including layout, fabrication, and timely delivery, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect materials before fabrication to comply with client specifications, plans, and standards.
  • Procurement: Oversee the procurement of materials and resources needed for project execution while maintaining cost efficiency.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure all projects comply with contracts, plans, specifications, and client quality, process, and procedure policies.
  • Resource Planning: Effectively plan and allocate resources, including labour, materials, and equipment, to meet project needs throughout the lifecycle.
  • Supplier Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely materials delivery and maintain strong vendor relationships.
  • Budget Management: Monitor project budgets and implement cost-saving measures where necessary.
  • Problem Solving: Address and resolve production or resource issues during project execution. 


Requirements:   

  • Proven experience in production management, preferably in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, materials, and industry standards.
  • Proficient in project management tools and software.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to challenges

MACHINE OPERATOR

Machine Operator position

  

The Machine Operator’s role is crucial to ensuring stone fabrication machinery’s safe, efficient operation and performance. The Machine Operator will be responsible for maintaining the prescribed quantity and quality of products while troubleshooting and making adjustments to optimize performance.  


 Duties and Responsibilities   

 

  • Set up saws and manage cycle changes.
  • Ensure correct material is loaded and programmed for precision cuts.
  • Operate stone fabrication machines efficiently to achieve precise results.
  • Maintain and operate equipment per manuals and procedures.
  • Perform basic machine adjustments and coordinate repairs when needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Verify, receive, and document quantities, products, and conditions of materials.
  • Place materials in designated locations and process paperwork accurately.
  • Track and update job statuses in scheduling systems.
  • Polish, cut, and fabricate stone products.
  • Assist in various production areas as needed.
  • Participate in installing stone countertops as required.
  • Support other departments and complete tasks as assigned.


Requirements:

STONE TECHNICIAN

 As a Stone Tech, you will utilize a unique skill set to grind, sand, or polish a variety of natural and engineered stone surfaces using hand tools or hand-held power tools to produce finished countertops for our valued customers.


JOB DESCRIPTION 

This position is responsible for hand polishing the stone to ensure that there are smooth surfaces and it meets the needs of the end client. Loading and transporting quartz and natural stone countertops to specified job sites. Installing countertops efficiently and professionally, properly mounting sinks, putting together seams, and drilling faucet holes.


The job is physically demanding and requires an individual to lift a considerable amount of weight while taking great care and attention to the materials being handled.

In this position, you will often be dealing with the public and therefore we require strong customer service skills. Candidate must be clean-cut and present well, as you will be meeting customers in their homes and installing a quality product.  


 Duties and Responsibilities:   

  • Hand polishes all profiles from the CNC machine
  • Use air polishers to clean out and polish any areas the CNC machines cannot
  • Measures and inspects parts during processing to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Uses job tracking system to keep accurate records and details of pieces
  • General cleaning of equipment and work area
  • Works in a safe manner that complies with all Safety Guidelines
  • Contributes to team effort and completes other duties as required or assigned.
  • Installing granite/ quartz countertops at both residential and commercial properties
  • Load and unload stone surfaces, accessories, supplies, and equipment to and from the truck
  • Quick and logical problem solving is required as last-minute measurements and adjustments may be required on-site
  • Ensuring installations follow all paperwork
  • Able to complete consistent and standardized work including regular quality control checks
  • Maintain installation trucks, keep clean and organized
  • Professional attitude always whether interacting with clients, in the shop and driving company vehicles 


Requirements:   

  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on superior quality craftsmanship
  • Self-starter who can work in a fast-paced work environment
  • A positive attitude with a dedication to high-quality work and craftsmanship
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills are a must
  • Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Previous manufacturing environment experience is an asset
  • Understanding of attendance and punctuality
  • Able to work overtime as required to maintain production schedules
  • Always willing to learn
  • Provide feedback to management and other team members regarding process improvements
  • Able to stand for prolonged periods and manually lift stone pieces
  • Experience working in the industry is an asset but not required
  • Previous experience operating tools to sand or polish stone, steel, or wood is an asset, but not required
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 100 lbs or more in some cases

FIELD MEASURE TECHNICIAN

Job description

 

As a crucial team member, the Field Measure Technician is responsible for precise measurement and documentation of dimensions and specifications for stone countertops. Utilizing advanced tools like the Laser Products LT-55 2D/3D, the Measuring Technician creates meticulous templates guiding fabrication and installation processes. We offer extensive onsite and offsite training and the use of company vehicle.  

Duties and Responsibilities:   

  • Equipment Operation: Proficiently operate measuring tools (LT-55 2D/3D Laser Templator) and CAD software to ensure accurate measurements and template creation.
  • Template Creation: Use digital templating systems and CAD software to generate precise templates for stone countertops, aligning with customer specifications.
  • Communication and Coordination: Collaborate with customers, contractors, and team members for an efficient workflow. Engage with project coordinators, fabricators, schedulers, CAD technicians, and installers to address specific requirements and resolve measurement-related issues.
  • Quality Control: Verify the accuracy and quality of templates through meticulous review. Address discrepancies or potential issues that could impact fabrication and installation processes.
  • Site Evaluation: Conduct on-site evaluations to gather project scope details and assess installation feasibility.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive records, including measurement reports, template specifications, and any modifications. Provide accurate documentation to support project managers, fabrication, and installation teams.


Requirements:     

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and listening abilities.
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining efficient, quality work.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
  • Experience in operating laser templating equipment is an asset.

  • Required to travel extensively within Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario.
