Stone Polisher
Job description
Granite Mountain Stone Design is seeking a reliable, well-organized, and hardworking individual to join our team as a Stone Polisher. In this role, you will be responsible for grinding and polishing natural and engineered stone surfaces to a smooth and lustrous finish. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently are crucial to your success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Hand-polish stone surfaces, edges, and sink cutouts
- Utilize portable grinding and polishing tools
- Select appropriate abrasive wheels based on stone type and finish requirements
- Identify and address uneven areas and imperfections
- Fill cracks or imperfections with matching stone filler
- Maintain accurate records and details of stone slabs in a job tracking system
- Ensure cleanliness of the working area and equipment
- Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment
- Contribute to team effort and assist with other duties as needed
- Perform problem-solving tasks as required, including on-site measurements and adjustments
- Maintain professionalism when interacting with clients and colleagues
Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail and superior organizational skills
- Self-motivated and capable of working in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Excellent attendance and punctuality
- Willingness to learn and provide feedback for process improvements
- Industry experience is an asset but not required
